Responsible for the start-up of JBG/Commercial Management, L.L.C., the JBG commercial property management organization; including the set-up of accounting system, the hiring and training of both engineering and professional staffs, establishing policies and procedures. From an initial portfolio of 750,000 sf of JBG owned commercial properties, the portfolio grew to 2 million sf in the first year of operation with the addition of a large third party account. Now focused on the core of JBG owned properties, the portfolio is over 5 million sf with an additional 1 million sf per year added from projects delivered from development and existing properties purchased by JBG. The professional and engineering staff grew from 15 in 2001 to over 130 currently. The operation was profitable in the first year and continued to be so throughout Mr. O’Neils’s tenure.

Responsible for starting up regional operations in the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area for Intellispace, Inc., a building centric high speed internet access provider. Regional start up requirements include: selection and development of real estate and customer sales staff to market and service clients; development and execution of regional business development plan; responsibility for regional budget with a goal of attaining cash flow positive status within 24 months; identification, acquisition and administration of regional offices.

As a partner and senior member of one of the leading full-service commercial real estate firms in the Washington Baltimore area, Mr. O’Neil was responsible for the oversight, administration and profitability of the Northern Virginia commercial property management and leasing departments. He oversaw a portfolio totaling over 6 million square feet of industrial and office product.

Became successor to The National Bank of Washington as Trustee of The Multi-Employer Property Trust. Responsible for the oversight and administration of the commercial real estate portfolio of a $700 million commercial real estate trust fund with assets located in 14 diverse United States markets.
